Just got back from an incredible trip to Karkom! This hidden gem in the southern Israeli desert is a must-visit for anyone who loves rugged landscapes, ancient history, and off-the-beaten-path adventures.
We hired a jeep from Shittim to get there, and the journey was already an adventure in itself! Once we arrived, we explored the stunning canyons and peaks of the area, marveling at the incredible silence and beauty of the desert.
One of the highlights of our trip was learning about the groundbreaking archaeological work of Emmanuel Anati, an Italian scholar who spent years studying the ancient rock art and standing stones of Karkom. His research has shed new light on the ancient history and spirituality of the area, and it was fascinating to see his work firsthand.
And of course, the local hospitality and warmth were present everywhere we went, from the delicious home-cooked meals to the friendly conversations we had with locals.
Overall, our trip to Karkom was an unforgettable adventure, and we highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a unique and off-the-beaten-path travel experience. #Karkom #IsraelTravel #DesertAdventures #OffTheBeatenPath #JeepAdventures #EmmanuelAnati #AncientHistory
